Rev. Shelley Smith is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Certified Mentor Coach (CMC). She is endorsed by the United Methodist Church General Board of Higher Education and Ministry as a Coach Chaplain. She earned her Master of Divinity degree at Palmer Theological Seminary, St. David's PA.
As a clergy member of the United Methodists of Greater New Jersey Annual Conference, Shelley is appointed to the ministry of coaching. She especially supports United Methodist clergy and congregational leaders as well as other denominations as they develop strategies for ministry, leadership or conflict resolution.
Additionally, she provides professional and missional development coaching in collaboration with various seminary leadership programs and congregational mission projects. Shelley provides career and life coaching for individuals, groups, and teams. She facitiates coach training for ICF accredited training programs and mentors coaches in developing ICF core competency skills for certification.
Shelley has served as the Senior Pastor at First United Church of National Park, NJ (2011-2013) and the historic Ferry Avenue United Methodist Church, Camden, NJ (2013-2022). In addition to coaching, she serves as a Circuit Leader, facilitator with the Local Pastor Licensing School, and is the Conference Secretary for the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference.
She enjoys family, travel, old movies, yoga and genealogy searches in her leisure time. Her heart for mission is expressed in her support of Windows of Hope in Uganda.https://wohuganda.com/.
